New Short Sale Guidelines

Idaho has a large number of Short Sales as well as foreclosures on the market which, for the most part, is driving the current home values.  Idaho Short Sale Many buyers as well as sellers have been disenchanted with the whole short sale process and timeline in which the process takes place.

These new guidelines that are forthcoming will assist your Idaho Realtor in processing a short sale transaction on behalf of both parties (buyer and seller).  When investors zero in on short sales, they have more time to wait out the process until the third-party lender approves the file. When a buyer who plans to occupy the home, often has timeline constraints and gets discouraged quicker.

The U.S. Treasury Department on Monday released a plan to speed up and encourage Short Sales as a means to help families avoid foreclosure. RE/MAX International as well as The National Association of Realtors has been offering Short Sale proposals to public officials for over a year, and although the new guidelines aren’t everything we were hoping for, they do represent a significant improvement over the current situation.

Veterans Day

Did you know:

Veterans Day Veterans Day honors all who have served in the U.S. military. In contrast, Memorial Day is a day of remembrance for those who have died in our nation's service. There are 23.6 million veterans in the United States.

Veterans Day originated as Armistice Day and was first celebrated on November 11, 1919, one year after the end of World War I. President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed a proclamation in 1954 to change the name to Veterans Day as a way to honor all veterans.

Does Veterans Day have an apostrophe? The official answer is no, according to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. “Veterans Day does not include an apostrophe but does include an ‘s’ at the end of ‘veterans’ because it is not a day that ‘belongs’ to veterans, it is a day for honoring all veterans.”

Thank you to all of you Veterans who have served and protected the United States of America!  Thank you to all the families who have lost a loved one as an ultimate sacrifice of their love for country!

May God bless America!

Lower Inventory of Homes Offers Greater Opportunity for Canyon County Home Owners...

Housing inventory began to decrease during the 2nd quarter of 2005, just as the boom was beginning and prices began to increase. In 2006 we watched inventory increase while sellers were catching on to buyer's demand and increasing sales prices.

in 2007 & 2008 inventory levels of single-family homes continued to increase throughout both years, trailing a bit downward toward the holiday season.

2009 inventory has been trailing as a whole, in spite of the many short sales and foreclosures that are available and is currently lower than the last three years at this time.
