If you're thinking about applying for the new $6,500 home buyer federal tax credit or the extended $8,000 version, the Internal Revenue Service has just issued its first formal guidelines for you.
Tops on the agency's list of advice: Cool it for a couple of weeks. Even if you qualify for one of the credits, don't send in any requests to the IRS quite yet. Wait until later this month when the agency publishes its revised Form 5405 with the key instructions needed to get you a check from the government.

Treasure Valley Historic Home Prices
After tracking our Idaho MLS statistics for the past few years, I have compiled the average SOLD prices for single family homes in the Nampa / Boise area.
As the graph shows, our peak prices were in the fall of 2006 and began to drop quickly. Canyon County experienced the most fluctuation in both rise and fall of average home prices in the Treasure Valley.
The graph for these Idaho Real Estate Statistics indicate we are currently at a pricing level similar to the beginning of 2005.

Did you know: |
The tradition of New Year resolutions originated about 4,000 years ago when the ancient Babylonians used them as a way to begin the year with a clear conscience, usually by returning borrowed items. |
The song “Auld Lang Syne” — meaning “old long ago” — is sung at the stroke of midnight to celebrate the start of the New Year in almost every English-speaking country in the world. The word “syne” is pronounced like the word "sign." The song is an old Scottish folk lyric modernized by the poet Robert Burns in 1788. |
The first ball drop in New York’s Time Square was in 1907. The ball was five foot wide and included 100 25-watt bulbs. The current New Year’s ball is a 12-foot-wide geodesic sphere encrusted with 32,256 super bright LEDs. |
